High-order Scharfetter-Gummel-based schemes and applications to gas discharge modeling

چکیده
A generalized Scharfetter-Gummel method is proposed to construct the numerical flux for one-dimensional drift-diffusion equations. Instead of taking a constant approximation as Scharfetter and Gummel did in [1], we consider p-degree polynomial with p≥1. The high order moments approximating function serve intermediaries bring correction flux, that other end turns out be solution derivatives. Therefore, local reconstructions are required. resulting schemes discretize at same time convective diffusive fluxes without having employ separately different methods do so. new p=1 p=2 employed simulate atmospheric pressure discharge where they applied continuity equations electrons ions, solved simultaneously Poisson's equation. Numerical results indicate our robust highly accurate.

Simulation of Hydrodynamic Semiconductor Device Models Using a Modified Scharfetter-Gummel Strategy
An efficient numerical solution scheme based on a new generalized finite difference discretization and iterative strategies is developed for submicron semiconductor devices. As a representative model we consider a non-parabolic hydrodynamic system. The discretization is formulated in a mapped reference domain, and incorporates a transformed Scharfetter-Gummel treatment for the current density a...

متن کاملControl Volume Finite Element Method with Multidimensional Edge Element Scharfetter-Gummel upwinding. Part 1. Formulation
We develop a new formulation of the Control Volume Finite Element Method (CVFEM) with a multidimensional Scharfetter-Gummel (SG) upwinding for the drift-diffusion equations. The formulation uses standard nodal elements for the concentrations and expands the flux in terms of the lowest-order Nedelec H(curl,Ω)-compatible finite element basis. The SG formula is applied to the edges of the elements...

Accelerating high-order WENO schemes using two heterogeneous GPUs
A double-GPU code is developed to accelerate WENO schemes. The test problem is a compressible viscous flow. The convective terms are discretized using third- to ninth-order WENO schemes and the viscous terms are discretized by the standard fourth-order central scheme. The code written in CUDA programming language is developed by modifying a single-GPU code. The OpenMP library is used for parall...
